My book for writers

Share with your friends!

After hinting for years that I would write a book for writers, I am finally taking action on it. I have been writing a non-fiction book for writers/storytellers titled Virtue in Story: How to Write Stories that Impact Generations

I was hesitant to announce this, because I have started this project several times without success over the past decade. Now the meat of this book is filling in, and I can see it pulling together as one cohesive book. I will update you all as this progresses, but realistically I think this could be published December of this year.

Scott Appleton is the author of the novels The Sword of the Dragon series, and The Neverqueen Saga, which are widely read by adults and younger readers. Besides these, Scott has also published a collection of short speculative fiction (By Sword By Right) which runs the gamut of science-fiction, fantasy, allegory, romance, poetry, and biblical. Driven by a love of storytelling and an appreciation for the craft, Scott has spoken extensively at events across the United States. His specialization in fiction editing and writing has garnered praise from some prominent writers. Scott was born in Connecticut and grew up there. He actively pursued astronomy through his teen years, built ships-in-bottles and, throughout his life, read and wrote extensively. Besides his writing he works in sales. Currently Scott lives in Greenville, South Carolina with his wife, Kelley, and their five children. His activities of choice are reading with his kids, watching fantasy and science-fiction movies, reading, and playing the occasional Star Wars video game. Awesome! I think it’ll be a big hit with your readers. Looking back to middle school, I can say with certainty that your books are among those that served to provide a godly foundation for my creative pursuits. While I don’t know that the Lord’s calling me to be a writer, I definitely plan on getting a copy when it comes out. Thank you for allowing the Lord to use you as He has!

    1. I am really glad to hear that, Payton. Due to the nature of its focus on creating legacy through stories, I think this book will encourage you… and hopefully many others… Not just to write stories that make a difference, but also to live a life that leaves a legacy.
